Inspections at all levels

We provide chimney inspection at all levels for the residents of Los Angeles to ensure our customers safety and satisfaction.

Level 1:

With a level 1 inspection, the chimney technician will examine readily accessible portions of the interior and exterior of your chimney. Level 1 is the most common and basic inspection that is a minimum requirement for the chimney and it doesn’t involve any special equipment.

Our skilled technicians will inspect the chimney to ensure the basic structure is intact, and there are no visible signs of damage. In this inspection, the technician will also verify that the chimney is free of obstructions or combustible materials that require a chimney repair.

Level 2:

A Level 2 inspection is a more in-depth inspection than a Level 1. A Level 2 inspection covers everything in Level 1, plus close examination of all accessible portions of the chimney and fireplace including the attic, crawl spaces and basement to visually inspect the entire chimney. It will address proper clearances from combustibles in accessible locations.

A level 2 inspection is required when there have been any changes to the fireplace and chimney. Changes can include change in the fuel sources (for example, you’re switching from wood burning to gas), changes to the shape or material of the flue, or replacing and adding an appliance. Additionally, a level 2 inspection is highly recommended upon the sale and transfer of a property, after an operation malfunction, or if the home has experienced external event that is likely to have caused damage including building fire, chimney fire, and earthquake, as well as weather events are all indicators that this level of inspection is warranted.

Level 3:

Level 3 inspection or camera inspection includes a more thorough evaluation and it is the most in depth type of chimney inspection. A level 3 inspection addresses the proper construction and the condition of concealed portions of the chimney structure and flue. It will include all the areas and items checked in a level 1 and level 2 inspection.

Camera inspection is highly recommended when you are buying or selling your house or when you are not aware about how the previous owners maintained the chimney.

In level 3 inspection, a camera is navigated through the flue which is mostly inaccessible to homeowners and cannot be inspected thoroughly by simply looking inside, and can provide the inspector a more accurate visual of any cracks, obstructions, creosote build-up, and other signs of dangerous deterioration.
